ABOUT US:

Thirty Four years ago I got tired of doing the sort of “mystic Celtic twilight” writing that was required by my (then) PR job because I found that people were constantly asking me for facts and information about Ireland – some of which were readily available, but more often the answers required a bit of “inside” know-how.

And I also thought it would be fun to start a newsletter and do the sort of writing that I enjoyed doing myself. Of course, it didn’t really work out like that! After quite a struggle to get started, I found myself running a little direct mail publishing company from Dublin into the USA (mainly), agonising over circulation figures and accounts and commissioning other people to do the writing. After all those years we’re still here (and so are many of our subscribers from very early days I’m delighted to say), offering a unique personalised information service to our subscribers.

Our quarterly newsletter was a simple 2-colour production which usually ran to 32 pages (sometimes more) of articles packed with interest and information presented in our crisp, literate, readable style. INSIDE IRELAND comes out of a tiny office in Dublin. Most of our subscribers were in the USA so it is aimed mainly towards that audience. But we have a number of enthusiastic members too in Canada, Australia, South Africa, the UK and elsewhere, and all are welcome.
